We were looking at examples of moral panics so I researched with my group and conducted a presentation to the class about the Pizzagate scandal and Q-Anon. The presentation is as so:
Pizzagate is a conspiracy theory that went viral during the 2016 Presisdential election claiming that a child-sex ring was discovered under a Pizzaria linked to members of the Democratic party. The theory was spread on social media sites such as 4Chan and Reddit by people who wanted Trump to win the election, members of the alt-right.
Q-Anon was a conspiracy theory and political movement from 2017. Followers believed that Trump secretly fought against a satanic, cannibalistic paedophilia group.
